Only known copy of the plan for the whole of the Essay on Man. One of the 1400 volumes in the collection of Harold Forster of minor verse of the 18th and 19th centuries. The collection is particularly strong on anonymous satire, though there are also sentimental, didactic and legendary tales. Miscellanies are represented by Griffiths no. 1, the Dryden miscellany of 1709 with the Pastorals, and Lintots miscellany of 1712 with the first version of the Rape of the Lock
