The Prince of Wales Fund
Lord Egremont, Chairman of FNL, writes:
"We are immeasurably grateful to HRH The Prince of Wales for allowing FNL to raise a fund in his name. We will raise £1m to create The Prince of Wales Fund, which will enable us to increase our grant-giving dramatically, and in perpetuity.
FNL is at a pivotal point, as are the organisations that we support. Cuts to the budgets of collecting institutions are jeopardizing their ability to keep important collections in the public domain. If FNL fails to increase, very substantially, the funds that we have to support acquisitions our nation’s story will increasingly be lost to the public domain.
The Prince of Wales Fund will help ensure that we can continue to do so."
Fundraising began in December 2015 and the Fund was launched by The Prince of Wales in February 2016 at a high profile reception, which was attended by writers, philanthropists, collectors and celebrities and was held in Lambeth Palace.
We are delighted to announce that as at January 2017 we have already raised over £950,000 towards our target. We are indebted to our many donors for their great generosity.
