A new vision and action plan for the sector have been informed by a consultation process led by The National Archives, which took place between April 2016 and January 2017. The vision for archives, Archives Unlocked, focuses on the needs and ambitions of the archives sector, while making the case for realising – in practical and tangible terms – their unique potential and relevance in preserving the diversity of our nation’s heritage.

The London International Antiquarian Book Fair

The Antiquarian Booksellers' Association and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers invite FNL members to visit the London International Antiquarian Book Fair which is being held from 28th to 30th May at Olympia.

Our campaign to raise funds to support acquisitions by county record offices and other non-national institutions (see previous News posting) has attracted generous donations from many FNL members and from trusts and foundations.
Our Smaller Libraries Fund now stands at over £32,000, all of which will be given in grants to the smaller institutions around the country. We are still working hard to increase this total and to ensure that we keep the fund topped up as grants are awarded from it.
